Where APtitude and EXcellence meet to strategically resolve the everyday problems of its clients.

Apex Group services businesses around the world and in all 8 Wards of the District of Columbia. That local reach isn’t a slogan, it’s a function of how the firm was built: by someone who worked inside the D.C. Council, understands the District’s regulatory landscape firsthand, and has spent his career engaged in D.C. institutions, from Howard University to Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity Inc. to the William Kellibrew Foundation.

Most firms serving the District are not minority-owned, and fewer still can point to a founder with real legislative-insider experience. Apex Group can claim both, and we built the firm to put that experience to work for the clients who need it most: the small businesses, congregations, and community organizations that make up the District’s everyday economy.

Our Vision

We started with a simple frustration: too many people in the District only meet a lawyer or a government-relations consultant after a problem has already become a crisis. Apex Group exists to change that timing, to be the call you make before things go wrong, not just after.

We built this firm on the belief that real aptitude and genuine excellence, applied consistently, can resolve the everyday problems clients actually have, not just the dramatic ones. That means being reachable, being direct about cost and process, and never treating a client’s “small” problem as small.

Founder & Principal Attorney

Brandon J. Wallace

Brandon Wallace is a licensed D.C. attorney and the Founder & Principal Attorney of Apex Group. His path into public service started at the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, where he managed a partnership between Howard University and the EPA built to create environmental-stewardship opportunities and diversify the environmental workforce.

He went on to earn a B.A. in Communications & Culture from Howard University, then a law degree from the UDC David A. Clarke School of Law, where he advocated as a Justice Scholar and served as president of the Student Bar Association.

Before founding Apex Group, Brandon served as legislative counsel to the D.C. Council’s Committee on Business and Economic Development — direct, inside experience with how legislation actually moves through the District. He’s also a former CEO of the William Kellibrew Foundation and a past board member of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity Inc., work that keeps him closely connected to community engagement and public service beyond the practice of law.
